welcome home

I have just spent 2 hours with the farrier, catching, trimming, and deworming each of the five horses on the place (Poppy, Reyes and En Pointe are visiting elsewhere, which is to say, running up board bills). I haven't showered or eaten anything yet, my throat is threatening another viral infection, the mares succeeded in emptying and knocking over(!) their water tank (which needs to be replaced, as it leaks), and I have two weeks of laundry to cope with.

But the mares are so beautiful I can hardly stand it, and I slept in MY OWN BED last night.

It's great to be home.

If you need help running to horse-supply stores and lugging around water-tanks, holler. It sounds really dumb, but I kind of miss a modicum of farmwork and chores. Call it a misguided sense of nostalgia for having been 13.5 years since last working a ranch. :)

sure!

If you would like to drive two hours each way for the privilege of lugging around tanks and getting hay down your shirt, drop me email and I'll send you directions. I have to compile a shopping list and then go buy groceries, hay, and a water tank. :-) (The couch folds out, if you decide not to go out and back on the same day.)

(If you're considering the bike, it looks like it's supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow.)

*nods* was considering bike. Hmmmmm. Maybe a more springish weekend? *shakesfist at rain*

I just need to get proper raingear in my size. Hrrf.
