Finals yesterday, birthday today, finals tomorrow. Then the end of finals for all time, or until I talk myself into another round of school. :-)

The birthday greetings on my friends list were a lovely surprise -- thank you all very much.

Completely random question! We're looking at getting a small ranch outside Carson City this fall, and I'm going to be looking for a couple horses (preferably geldings ... mares and I just don't click all that well, generally speaking). I don't know the market out here -- are there any decent sales barns in the area? I've got no problem paying trailering from the Bay area/Sacramento.

I do have a pointer to a friend in Morgan Hill who has a gelding who would rather jump than eat. She bought him as a yearling for her daughter, who would rather have a cat than a horse (go figure), so she's broken him out, sent him to a pro trainer for a few months of polishing (he was in the ribbons over fences in the only show he went to) and has since been standing around doing Not Very Much.

There's another gelding down there too, more trail-oriented I think. I'll email you Anita's contact info privately.
